if you are running an old ios and enable secret is not recognized then issue

and encrypt the password
service password-encryption
next secure the virtual consoles
line vty 0 15 password_my_password login

copy run start
to save your configuration

Unfortunately I haven’t been working on cisco devices over the last couple of years and most of the things I’ve learned are long forgotten. lets say you have two identical hdd in your linux box in a software raid1 setup. one of them fails and you have a nice degraded array. you have to replace the failed hdd and rebuild the array. but which one is to replace??
let’s say sda is the working hdd, issue the following command
hdparm -I /dev/sda | head -8
and you should see
/dev/sda:
